Central Coast Now Using Drones For Conservation-Friendly Farming ...Middle East

News by : (News channel) -

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) - Central Coast industrial farmers are beginning to use large drones designed specifically for conservation at large-scale farms.

For the first time in 25 years, the state of California was declared in January by the U.S. Drought Monitor as 100% drought free, thanks to the winter storms.

Over the long road of drought conditions existing somewhere in the state for a quarter of a century, farming technology has been focused on conservation.

A drone manufacturer, Hylio, Inc., has developed large drones designed specifically to increase output while reducing input, and they already have some clients on the Central Coast.

With the heat wave that has immediately followed the storms as we enter spring, conservation is once again on the minds of industrial farmers.

CEO of Hylio, Arthur Erickson, says this drone technology is here to stay, and can be vital in maintaining California’s status as drought-free.
