ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Grab the umbrella today as a few hours of steady rain arrives Friday. We may see a little snow or sleet first thing this morning, but temperatures will climb into the 40s and most of the precip will be plain rain. The Threat Tracker will be Green with no severe weather ahead. Rain totals will average about a half an inch across the region today. Steady rain will end mid to late afternoon with dry weather for your Friday evening and night plans. Spring officially begins with the equinox at 10:46AM.
Looking ahead to the weekend. Saturday will be a dry and decent day with a mix of clouds and sun. Temps on the cool side in the 30s and 40s. Weather will go downhill Sunday as a slow moving front moves through the region. Initially the temperatures will be well into the 40s and plain rain will arrive during the morning and early afternoon. As the cold front slides to our south the temp will drop, and rain will change to snow later in the day. Some slushy accumulation is possible. Much colder weather is back early next week with a few lake flakes on Monday. Overall temperatures will average below normal as we start Spring this year.
