Caleb Williams is Trying to Trademark the “Iceman” Nickname ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

Caleb Williams cemented his status as “The Iceman” with his clutch late-game heroics, leading to Chicago Bears victories in frigid temperatures at Soldier Field.

And, now, he is looking to lock in that nickname with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Patrick Finley (Sun-Times) lays out the details:

Williams submitted four trademark applications on Monday related to his moniker: one for the name, another for a logo surrounding the name, and two more silhouettes that mimic Williams’ Michael Jordan-esque pose as he completed a pass to Rome Odunze in the Bears’ playoff win against the Packers.

A search of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office shows Caleb Williams Inc.’s “Iceman” applications for sporting goods, footballs, sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, jerseys, jackets, vest, water bottles, mugs, bags, backpacks, luggage, sunglasses, posters and downloadable trading cards.

The business of Caleb Williams figures to be booming in the future, especially if Chicago’s QB1 can repeat his 2025 performance as a Year 3 starter in 2026.

Caleb Williams wants to cement his status as The Iceman

The 2025 NFL season was one that Bears fans will never forget, mostly due to the performance of Chicago’s starting quarterback. Williams set a new Bears franchise record in passing yards while leading the team to its first postseason appearance since 2020, its first NFC North title since 2018, and its first postseason victory since January 2011. It was an extraordinary season for Williams, which was loaded with highlights and magical moments. No wonder Bears General Manager Ryan Poles is thinking about a Caleb Williams extension one year before his star quarterback is eligible to receive one.

With that being said, we have some time before we get to that bridge,  let alone cross the darn thing. So let’s not put the cart ahead of the horse. For what it’s worth, Caleb Williams already knows what he needs to do to improve on what he did in Year 2 as a starter to take his game to another level as he enters his second season under Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson. Knowledge is power. Teaming that knowledge with elite athletic gifts could make Williams a ton of money — both in terms of future NFL contracts and endorsements. Trademarking the “Iceman” moniker is probably just the start.
