2026 Iowa Swimming Short Course Championships
February 26-March 1, 2026 Wellmark YMCA, Des Moines, Iowa Short Course Yards (25 yards) Results on Meet Mobile: “2026 Iowa Swimming Short Course Championships”Sheldon Lamb went ham at the Iowa Swimming Short Course Championships two weeks ago, winning seven individual titles and five relay crowns at the Iowa Swimming Short Course Championships in the 13-14 age group.
The 13-year-old from the Ames Cyclones Swim Club dominated his age group in spite of being in the younger half.
Lamb’s Individual Results, 13-14 Age Group
Place Time Drop 50 free 1st 21.38 -0.02 100 free 1st 47.31 -0.38 50 back 1st 23.90 -0.73 100 back 1st 50.70 -1.66 200 back 1st 1:51.90 -1.62 100 breast 1st 58.51 -2.17 100 fly 1st 50.78 -2.29His relay results were equally as impressive. Along with his Ames teammates, he was on winning relays in all five events, including a 20.58 in the 50 free and 46.87 in the 100 free on rolling starts.
His swims in the 50 back and 100 back were both new LSC Records in the 13-14 age group. The 50 broke Mason Turner‘s old mark of 24.28, while the 100 broke Clayton Treharne’s record of 51.34 from just a few weeks ago at his high school district meet.
He wasn’t the only swimmer with double digit gold medals at the meet. Andrew Seifert from Kohawk Aquatics picked up 10 wins at the meet.
His run included new best times in the 50 fly (21.59), 100 fly (47.49), and 50 free (19.83). The latter of those results is his first time under 20 seconds and a .56 second improvement.
Seifert two weeks earlier won Iowa High School State Championships in the 100 free and 100 breast as well.
Seifert, who has had a huge senior season, is committed to NAIA Dordt University on the other end of the state from his home near Cedar Rapids. He is likely the best American to ever commit to an NAIA University, and might be the best recruit of any nationality in NAIA history too.
On the girls’ side, Addie DeYoung of the Waukee Waves won 10 events as well, including six individual events in the 13-14 age group.
