2026 Virginia Senior Champs
March 4-8, 2026 Richmond, VA SCY (25 yards) Meet Mobile: “2026 VSI SC Senior Championships”The top swimmers from Virginia competed in Richmond last weekend, with Emerson Callis leading the way on the girls side. Callis is the #6 ranked recruit in the girls high school class of 2026 and showed off her versatility.
Callis swam to five individual wins at the meet, including numerous best times. She won the 100 fly in a lifetime best 52.52, the 100 back in a lifetime best 52.81, and 200 fly in a lifetime best 1:54.82. Even with the new qualification system, Callis’ time in the 200 fly would have made the 2026 NCAA Championships. NC State has no entries for the 200 fly this week.
In addition to her five wins, Callis battled it out with Lane Francis in the 200 backstroke as Francis touched in a 1:54.71 for the win while Callis was 2nd in a 1:55.03. Francis also had a strong meet, highlighted by her 200 back which was a half a second drop while she also swam a 52.84 in the 100 back, 22.57 50 free, 49.93 100 free, and a 54.80 in the 100 fly. All of those were lifetime bests.
Virginia Tech commit Ally Vernon dropped almost half a second to touch 2nd behind Francis in the 50 free as Vernon swam to a 22.84. Vernon also touched in best times in the 100 free (49.37), 200 IM (2:00.43), and 100 back (54.71). Vernon’s time in the 50 free would now would have made her tied for 4th on Virginia Tech’s roster this past season.
Highlighting the boys side of the meet was Charlie Hilton who dropped over six seconds en route to a win in the 400 IM, touching in a 3:51.02. The 15 year old entered the day with a best time of a 3:57.47. He entered the season with a lifetime best 3:59.93.
Fellow 15 year old Jimmy Jacobs won both the 50 back and 100 back. He touched in a 22.39 in the 50 back and a 48.38 in the 100 back. His 100 back was a huge swim as he broke 50 seconds for the first time as his best time was a 50.49 entering the day.
Virginia Tech commit Matthew Wolfe swept the breaststroke events on the boys side, touching in a 54.45 in the 100 breast and a 1:59.28 in the 200 breast. His 200 breast was only 0.06 off his lifetime best. Wolfe was 6th in the 50 free in a lifetime best 21.29, while Austin Temple earned the win in a 20.31. Temple is an NC State commit.
