Around the NFL: Raiders and Titans Spend Big, Seahawks Lose Key Contributors, More ...Middle East

The Las Vegas Raiders wasted little time flexing their league-leading cap space Monday, handing out a flurry of contracts in an aggressive attempt to jumpstart a roster that limped to a 3-14 finish last season and holds the No. 1 pick in April’s NFL Draft.

Raiders Spend Big in Free Agency

The Raiders made their biggest splash on the offensive line, signing former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum to a three-year, $81 million deal that includes $60 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid interior offensive lineman in NFL history. The 25-year-old quickly developed into one of the league’s top centers in Baltimore, posting the second-best pass-block win rate at the position since 2022 (96.2%) while anchoring one of the NFL’s most productive rushing attacks.

Las Vegas also added another offensive piece by agreeing to a three-year, $35 million deal with wide receiver Jalen Nailor, including $23 million guaranteed. A Vikings sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Nailor developed into a rotational receiver and occasional starter over the past two seasons.

The Raiders also focused heavily on defense, bringing in linebackers Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean, along with edge defender Kwity Paye. Walker lands a three-year, $40.5 million contract after posting a career-high 128 tackles last season, while Dean joins on a three-year, $36 million deal.

Paye arrives on a three-year, $48 million contract with $32 million guaranteed, giving Las Vegas another presence on the edge. The Raiders also retained defensive end Malcolm Koonce on a one-year, $11 million deal.

With the most cap space in the league and the No. 1 pick in the draft, the Raiders made it clear Monday they intend to be aggressive as they try to accelerate a rebuild following last season’s 3–14 finish.

Titans Spend Big Early in Free Agency as Rebuild Continues

The Tennessee Titans were among the busiest teams on the first day of the NFL’s free-agent negotiation window, agreeing to deals with a long list of players as they attempt to rebuild a roster that won just three games last season.

The headline additions include wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, and cornerbacks Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott, along with depth signings such as quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, tight end Daniel Bellinger, and interior offensive linemen Cordell Volson and Austin Schlottmann. None of the deals can become official until the new league year begins on March 11.

Defensively, the Titans may have taken a meaningful step forward. Franklin-Myers joins Jeffery Simmons to form a potentially dangerous interior pass-rushing duo. Meanwhile, Taylor and Flott immediately strengthened a secondary that lacked reliable starting options last season.

Offensively, however, the upgrades are less clear. Robinson brings volume after back-to-back 90-catch seasons with the Giants, but Tennessee still lacks proven big-play threats, and the offensive line additions come with questions after inconsistent recent production.

For a team with roughly $90 million in cap space, the Titans were always going to add talent this week. The real question isn’t whether Tennessee improved; it’s whether these moves move the needle enough to make the team competitive again in 2026.

Seahawks Stay Quiet Early in Free Agency, Focus on Retaining Key Pieces

The Seattle Seahawks stuck to their usual approach at the start of free agency, prioritizing their own players rather than diving aggressively into the open market. Seattle’s only agreements Monday were deals to retain two members of its Super Bowl roster: cornerback Josh Jobe and wide receiver/return specialist Rashid Shaheed.

Jobe agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal, a solid reward for a player Seattle helped develop into a starting cornerback after he initially struggled to stick with the Eagles. Shaheed also returns on a three-year, $51 million contract, keeping one of the team’s most explosive playmakers and return specialists in the fold.

While Seattle retained those contributors, several members of its 2022 draft class departed. Edge rusher Boye Mafe signed with the Bengals, safety Coby Bryant landed with the Bears, and running back Kenneth Walker III joined the Chiefs after his Super Bowl MVP performance.

Walker’s departure leaves Seattle with a potential hole in the backfield, something the franchise historically prefers to address through the draft. With picks 32, 64, and 96 in April, the Seahawks could look to replenish the position with a young runner rather than spending heavily in free agency.
