SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards may have a new name, but the annual show has the same mission to celebrate actors.

On Sunday, March 1, Kristen Bell served as host for the live telecast held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

“I am so thrilled to be here with all of you tonight,” Bell told the crowd. “I think the world can use some levity right now, so we’re going to keep things fun tonight.”

The Actor Awards are voted on by members of the Screen Actors Guild, which placed Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another film ahead of the pack with seven nominations total.

As for TV, Apple TV’s The Studio has the most recognition with five nominations.

If you missed the show or want to relive the best and worst moments, Us Weekly is breaking down all the highlights pop culture fans will be talking about below:

Best Tribute to Catherine O’Hara: Seth Rogen

When presenter Lisa Kudrow announced Catherine O’Hara won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for The Studio, Seth Rogen accepted the award on her behalf.

“I know she would have been honored to receive this award from her fellow performers, who I know she respected so much. She was such a big fan of all of yours,” Rogen said while honoring O’Hara, who died on January 30 at the age of 71. “We were lucky to live in a world where she shared her talents with us.”

Best Surprise ‘I Am an Actor’ Moment: Michael J. Fox

Following tradition, SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards featured various actors participating in the famed “I Am an Actor” segment.

During the opening sequence, the crowd erupted in applause when Michael J. Fox appeared on camera to share his story.

“When I left school and moved from Canada to L.A. to start making it as an actor, a teacher of mine told me, ‘Fox, you’re not going to be cute forever,’” Fox said. “So I said, ‘Maybe just long enough, sir.’ After a few years of dumpster diving in L.A., I ended up on Family Ties, where I received the biggest gift of my career: I met my wife, actor Tracy Pollan, who played Ellen, my girlfriend. I’m Michael J. Fox. I’m a dad, and I’m an actor.”

Fox, who funded an eponymous nonprofit supporting Parkinson’s research, retired from acting in 2020 amid his battle. He was able to attend this year’s show with his son, Sam Fox.

Best TV Reunion: ‘The Office’ Cast

Before The Studio won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, several actresses from NBC’s The Office reunited on stage to present the trophy.

Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, Angela Kinsey and Ellie Kemper came together to reminisce on how TV comedies used to work.

“We are women who survived 22-episode seasons,” Kaling and her former costars joked. “Comedy is hard in any number, which is why we are genuinely in awe of anyone who can make people laugh consistently.”

Best Acceptance Speech: Harrison Ford

Gratitude was the theme of Harrison Ford’s speech when he accepted the 2026 SAG-AFTRA Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I struggled for about 15 years going from acting job to carpentry back to acting ‘til I finally got a part in a wildly successful film,” Ford shared during his rare date night with wife Calista Flockhart. “None of this happened on my own. Thank you, George Lucas. Thank you, Steven Spielberg.”

The Indiana Jones actor continued, “Sometimes we make entertainment, sometimes we make art, sometimes we’re lucky we make ’em both at the same time. And if we’re really fortunate, we get to make a living doing it. I’m indeed a lucky guy. Lucky to have found my people. Lucky to have work that challenges me. Lucky to still be doing it. And I don’t take that for granted.”

Best Surprise Win: Michael B. Jordan

It’s no secret that Marty Supreme’s Timothée Chalamet has been the favorite at awards shows this year in the famous Best Actor category. During SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards, however, the voters surprised some viewers when they awarded Michael B. Jordan with the trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role thanks to his role in Sinners.

Jordan received a standing ovation before he expressed gratitude to his peers for giving him the honor.

“I wasn’t expecting this at all. I’m so honored and privileged,” he shared. “This ride has been unbelievable, so thank you for welcoming me in and making me feel seen.”

Worst Segment: Table Tennis With the Stars

During several points in the show, host Kristen Bell decided to get a little sporty by inviting actors to play a game of table tennis backstage.

“You know the Actor Awards are so pure. It’s not like other awards shows where the celebration of art is reduced down to competition and campaigning,” Bell explained. “This is about actors supporting actors, and I’m here to change that because this year I am escalating the competition with a table-tennis tournament.”

Different pairings — such as Ted Danson vs. Jackie Tohn — played throughout the night to win a special prize. While many of Us loved the Olympics, Super Bowl and more sporting events in 2026, table tennis didn’t feel necessary at a glamorous awards show.

Worst Production Moment: Netflix Gave Us Ads

Airing an awards show on Netflix has its perks. After all, it’s not every celebration where the host can cuss on live TV and t.A.T.u.’s “All the Things She Said” plays loud and proud.

While many users have a paid subscription where they expect ads, it would have been special to have a live telecast be ad-free and have the entire audience watch every moment at the same time.

Stars Who Skipped SAG's Actor Awards: Martin Short, Meryl Streep and More

Worst TV Doctor Omission: Eric Dane

Less than one month ago, news broke that Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane had died at the age of 53 following an ALS diagnosis.

During SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards, a segment aired that recognized medical dialogue on several TV shows. As scenes from The Pitt, Scrubs, ER and Grey’s Anatomy aired, some of Us wondered why producers didn’t include a scene involving Dane.

After Dane played plastic surgeon Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan from 2006 to 2012, it seemed like a nice time to honor the actor. Fortunately, he was included in the traditional (and moving) In Memoriam segment later on in the show.
