The longest session of competition of the 2026 CAA concluded last night, and at the top, the pace picked up as six athletes hit NCAA qualifying marks in their events. During the first half of the meet, only one swimmer qualified for the collegiate national meet.

That one swimmer was UNCW junior William Carrico, who unleashed a 2.5 second personal best in the 200 IM to punch his first NCAA ticket last night. The New Hampshire native kept the heat on tonight with another NCAA mark and conference record in the 400 IM. His final time tonight was 3:42.15, yet again getting 2.5 seconds under his 3:44.81 previous best.

As far as new qualifiers, we look to the first event of the night, the 100 butterflies, to get started. Both the men’s and women’s winners – Sebastian Smith and Cameron Snowden – secured their spot for NCAAs. Snowden, who competes for William & Mary, won the women’s event in 52.06. She will make a return to college’s biggest stage after qualifying for the NCAAs for the first time last year at this meet in 51.78. That time remains the CAA meet and conference record. Smith, on the other hand, is headed to NCAAs for the first time with his 45.63 effort.

The final swim qualifier of the night came in the men’s 100 breaststroke. Towson junior hit 52.12 in the A final of the event to win and receive an invite back to NCAAs. His previous best stood at 52.40, swum at last year’s NCAA Championships.

Rounding out the NCAA qualifiers were two men’s divers in the 3m event: Ethan Badrian (UNCW) and Sam Tennell (Towson).

With one more day of competition left to go, William and Mary has put serious space between itself and #2 UNCW, the 3x defending champions. The Seahawk men look to make it 5 conference meets in a row for them, extending their lead against Towson.

Other Day 3 Winners

After a narrow 500 free loss last night, Towson junior Addie Scott took the 200 free by the horns with a dominant 1:47.47 win. Scott was sub-28 on all 50s for a best time by a quarter second. William & Mary’s Aiden Bond won the men’s 200 free by about a second, touching the pad in 1:35.03 Tribe teammates Julie Addison and Caroline Burgeson went 1-2 in the 100 back, clocking times of 53.13 and 53.84 Lindsay Juhlin made it 3 for 3 for William & Mary in women’s 100 stroke wins, courtesy of a 1:01.11 100 breast Drexel’s Theo Andreopoulos captured his second individual win of the weekend with a 46.83 100 back. The Philadelphia school’s sprint talents were on full display, with the university sweeping the 200 freestyle relays. The women pumped out a new CAA record of 1:30.56 before handing the pool over to their male teammates. Led off by Andreopoulos, the squad finished in 1:18.17 Between Carrico and Olivia Corbi, the 400 IMs were a UNC Wilmington sweep. Corbi delivered a 4:17.58 to top the podium by about a half second. She has improved four seconds over the course of her sophomore year.
