CAIRO, Feb 27 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi performed Friday prayers at Al-Mosheer Tantawi Mosque, coinciding with celebrations marking the anniversary of the 10th of Ramadan victories.
The prayers were also attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zahir, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, a number of ministers and governors, commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces and the police, and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the Armed Forces.
Spokesman for the Presidency Mohamed al-Shennawy said Sheikh Dr. el-Shahat el-Sayyed al-Azzazi delivered the sermon entitled “The month of victories and the day of the martyr,” during which he highlighted the most prominent epics and acts of heroism achieved by the Islamic nation during the holy month of Ramadan.
He noted that this blessed month witnessed a number of victories due to sincere reliance on God, diligence, and perseverance, culminating in the decisive victory on the 10th of Ramadan.
The sermon also addressed the virtue of martyrdom and the high status of the martyr, who sacrificed his life to preserve the homeland and protect its sanctities.
He emphasized that we must all follow in the footsteps of the righteous martyrs by offering what is most precious to keep the nation’s flag flying high.
Following Friday payers, President Sisi met with the commanders of the Armed Forces, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zahir and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, and the commanders of the main branches.
The president greeted the Armed Forces on the anniversary of the victories of the 10th of Ramadan, which coincides with Egypt and the Armed Forces’ commemoration of Martyrs’ Day and Veterans’ Day.
The president paid tribute to the nation’s righteous martyrs who illuminated the path with pride and honor to continue the journey of service throughout Egypt across all fields.
The meeting addressed a number of important regional and international issues. It also reviewed the tasks undertaken by the Armed Forces to support Egypt’s national security across all strategic directions. Concluding the meeting, the president expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Armed Forces in protecting the homeland and safeguarding its sanctities. (MENA)
