Rule105 Brewing, a popular Greeley brewpub that closed Jan. 31 after five years because it failed to find a buyer before reopening three days later when two potential purchasers appeared, is closing again Saturday — apparently for good this time.
In posts on their website and social media pages labeled “With Deepest Sorrow,” owners Mike and Kristie Mosher announced the permanent closure of the business at 4731 W. 10th St.
“Please follow our Facebook or Instagram page for last-minute specials and sales we will be offering,” they wrote. “We have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful people at our brewery, and we will cherish the memories. All our best to everyone.”
Reached Thursday, Mike Mosher told BizWest, “We’re retiring, and going ahead and selling everything that’s in here. The management company will probably put the space up for lease starting in April.”
The Moshers purchased the former Broken Plow Brewery in 2021 and renamed it Rule105, which Kristie Mosher said was a term from the Urban Dictionary meaning “beer is the answer.” They first revealed plans to sell the brewery in December 2024, but after more than a year of searching for a buyer, announced the closure after none appeared. Suddenly two possible purchasers showed interest, and the business reopened Feb. 3. However, both potential offers fell through.
The couple chose to cease operation and liquidate the business in order to realize their dreams of retirement and their desire to be full-time grandparents. As Kristie Mosher said in January, “we have already missed the first 12 years of our grandsons’ lives and don’t want to miss any more.”
Added Mike Mosher on Thursday, “We’ll just take it one day at a time and move on.”
