Winless in February! 11-Game Losing Streak: Trail Blazers 121, Bulls 112 – February 26, 2026 ...Middle East

No-Win February. Somehow, it almost has a better ring to it than No-Shave November. And a winless February will all be worth it when the Bulls are picking among the top three in the 2026 NBA Draft.

At least we know March can only get better from here, because the only way from rock bottom is up.

And by losing 121-112 at home to the Portland Trail Blazers, the chances of Chicago landing an additional first-round pick increase. So, let’s count our blessings, shall we?

The Moment the Bulls Lost the Game

It started with a four-minute drought for the Trail Blazers, and that opened the door late for Chicago to mount a comeback. Down 15 at one point, the Bulls first pulled off a 10–2 run to cut the deficit to under 10.

New forward Leonard Miller, the other young guy in the Rob Dillingham trade, was doing impressive things in his first real opportunity with the Bulls. During that run, he hit a rare corner three and threw down a big momentum-shifting dunk, helping Chicago push the comeback and maybe earn himself minutes in Billy Donovan’s rotation going forward.

With 4:20 left, the Bulls were only down eight. The Blazers’ drought had stretched to seven minutes, and it felt like the Bulls had the momentum and the game in their hands.

In the clutch, the Bulls have usually done good things. But not tonight.

Out of a timeout, they let the Blazers finally end their drought with a 5–0 run of their own, making it an eight-point game again with 90 seconds on the clock. Portland also kept its foot on the gas, grabbing offensive rebounds and hitting threes that killed any hope the Bulls had of ending their long losing streak.

After that, it was too late, and the game ended in favor of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Key Stats and Takeaways

The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair. Every punch was met with an equally fair one, with 8 ties and 8 lead changes. The injury bug clearly hurt the Blazers, for them to even be in a situation like this, missing the biggest pieces of their offense. Because of that, we saw a lot of interesting players getting minutes. Like, I did not know Matisse Thybulle was still in the NBA, let alone the sixth man for this injured Blazers squad. Regardless, the Bulls continued their bad habit of bricking threes, going 1-for-7 in the first period. But they did not settle. They played with effort, grabbed offensive rebounds, and ran the floor for fast-break points and easy buckets in the paint, something they were not doing during this losing streak. And yes, they were rewarded with a lead to end the quarter. Scoring 34 and up just two, but up is up.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) February 27, 2026 That led into a not-so-perfect first half by any stretch of the imagination, but the vibes for today’s game were a lot better. The multiple-pass possessions are exactly how the Bulls should be playing, and they did that tonight, with 14 of their 22 made shots being assisted. Despite being down six, Chicago were not getting demolished on either side of the court, and that alone is already a step up from the blowouts we’ve seen the last couple games.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) February 27, 2026 The third quarter has been tough for Chicago over this losing streak, giving up a ton of points, and with it the momentum and final result of the game. Even though the Bulls started the half strong, Portland was able to curb the run in the bud. The Trail Blazers slowed down Chicago, forcing turnovers and pushing a six-point lead into double-digits. They managed to hold the Bulls to 23 points, probably an ode to their franchise legend.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) February 27, 2026 Despite a late attempt, Chicago was not able to come out of here with a win. That means the Bulls are officially without a win in the month of February. It also means the active losing streak has now reached eleven games, the third longest in franchise history. However, with the loss to the Blazers, it not only increased the club’s chances of securing a better draft pick, but also improved the odds of Portland making the playoffs and their lottery-protected pick falling to us. The tank is well and truly tanking.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) February 27, 2026 Seven Bulls finished with double-digit points, but they also accumulated 20 turnovers. This is the fourth time in five games the Bulls have had 20 or more turnovers. What makes it even crazier is that they had only eight such games all season before this stretch, meaning half of them have come in just the last five games.

— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) February 27, 2026 Matas did lead all scorers with a stacked stat line of 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. But it was not pretty. He also picked up four fouls, committed four turnovers, posted a minus-15 while on the court, and struggled with efficiency. This was also a good game for Leonard Miller. With all the injuries, he played a season-high 23 minutes, putting up 11 points, three rebounds, and two blocks on near-perfect efficiency from the field. This was one of his first real opportunities, maybe in his entire career, and he managed to impress, especially with his moments in the clutch. Expect to see a lot more from him during the rest of this tank.
