Arizona State’s Remi Fabiani continued the Sun Devil’s strong showing at these Big 12 Championships with a championships record in the men’s 200 freestyle, stopping the clock in 1:31.24, besting Arizona’s Ralph Daleiden Ciuferri‘s 2025 record time of 1:31.48.

The swim marks his 2nd fastest career performance, only trailing his CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge swim of 1:31.23 form November.

Fabiani was out the fastest in 20.77, and continued that momentum through the first 100, still leading in 43,67. Arizona’s Tomas Lukminas began to creep a little on the last 100. but ultimately ran out of real estate and would settle for silver in 1:32.24. The Wildcats still scored good points with Lukimas, Daleiden Ciuferri in 3rd (1:32.43) and Ben Butler in 8th (1:35.32).

Arizona State was well represented in the championship final, finishing 4-5-7 with Quin Seider, Jonny Kulow (1:33.06), and Nick Chirafisi (1:33.60).

The biggest difference in the two records was the drop off for Daleiden Ciuferri, he actually was faster on each 50 through the first 150 yards, but dropped off to 24.31 on the closing 50, while Fabiani only dropped off .11 from his 150 to 200 (23.73 to 23.31).
