The Colorado High School Activities Association released Class 5A boys and girls basketball playoff brackets Sunday.
Eight local teams are represented.
Seven of those teams will be among the 24 teams receiving first-round byes in each 40-team bracket.
One girls team, however, Greeley Central, will be in action right away.
As the 36th seed, the Wildcats (8-15) will face No. 29 Ponderosa (9-14) on the road at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Parker. The winner moves on to face No. 4 Windsor (18-5) in Windsor at a to-be-determined time Saturday.
In addition to Windsor, 24th-seeded Severance (10-13), No. 15 Northridge (15-8) and No. 10 Roosevelt (16-7) also have first-round byes in the 5A girls playoffs.

The Silver Knights will hit the road to take on ninth-seeded Pueblo East (20-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Northridge and Roosevelt also already know who their second-round opponents will be. The Grizzlies will play host to No. 18 Mullen (7-16) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rough Riders will play host to No. 23 Evergreen (11-12) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The first three rounds of the playoffs will be hosted by the higher seeds before the action moves to the Denver Coliseum in about two weeks for the quarterfinals, semifinals an the finals. The finals are set for March 14.

Riding a 13-game win streak, the Silver Knights will receive a first-round bye before playing host to No. 30 Pueblo Central (10-13) or No. 35 Grand Junction Central (7-16) at a to-be-announced time Friday.
Also in the 5A boys playoffs, No. 17 Roosevelt (18-5) will receive a first-round bye before taking the short trip to Frederick to take on the No. 16 Golden Eagles (15-8) at 7 p.m. Friday.
The defending state champion, Windsor (16-7), is seeded 11th and it will also receive a first-round bye. The Wizards will take on No. 22 Standley Lake (15-8) at 6 p.m. Friday in Windsor.
