Hometown Hero: Paul Slack ...Middle East

News by : (chapelboro) -

This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Paul Slack.

Slack is the chief civil rights officer for Orange County. He and his team make sure all county services are equally open and accessible for everyone and that everyone in Orange County knows and feels like they belong. Slack started as a teacher, hearing students talk about feeling like they didn’t belong and what they weren’t receiving in schools, a feeling that Slack was familiar with growing up. Slack’s job involves taking proactive steps to make sure all services are accessible, including their website. That accessibility is especially important in times of crisis, like the recent winter weather we had.
