The 2026 Mountain West Championships is in the books, seeing San Diego State win their 5th-straight conference title. The Aztecs pulled away as the meet went on. Washington State started the meet in the lead, then fell in the standings before rebounding all the way up to 2nd. Washington State notably does not have a diving program. Also of note, Washington State’s 2nd-place finish marks their highest conference meet finish in program history.

The final session of the meet kicked off with the 1650 free, where Wyoming sophomore Macey Hansen won in 16:16.41. With the performance, Hansen punched her ticket to next month’s NCAA Championships, as she was well under the NCAA qualifying time of 16:25.29. Hansen holds a career best of 16:07.75, which she swam at last year’s MW Championships, and makes her the #2 performer in conference history. UNLV junior Ava Olson had a great swim as well, taking 2nd in 16:23.21.

Colorado State’s Tess Whineray, a junior, then set the Mountain West Championship record with a 1:52.82 in the 200 back. Whineray was just a hair off the conference record of 1:52.76 as well. Additionally, Whineray, who set the Colorado State program record with her swim, also punched her ticket to NCAAs next month, as she was well under the NCAA qualifying time of 1:54.80.

Washington State’s Darcy Revitt, a sophomore, won the 100 free in 47.79 after clocking a 47.45 in prelims. With that prelims swim, Revitt broke her own Washington State program record, as well as the Mountain West Conference record. Additionally, Revitt has now added the 100 free to her NCAA Championships lineup.

The 200 breast saw a terrific race between Fresno State senior Mackenzie Lung and Washington State senior Emily Lundgren. Lundgren was out with the early lead, splitting 1:01.00 on the opening 100, while Lung was 1:01.89 going out. Lundgren then actually expanded her lead on the 3rd 50, splitting 32.77 to Lung’s 33.41. Facing a 1.53-second deficit, Lung then found a 2nd wind, and came soaring home in 31.73 on the final 50, which was too much for Lundgren. Lung got her hands on the wall in 2:07.03, just 0.01 seconds ahead of Lundgren (2:07.04). Lung’s swim marks a new Mountain West Championship Record. Both women have now added the 200 breast to their NCAA Championships schedules.

The meet concluded with the 400 free relay, where Washington State won with a time of 3:15.72. That performance marks a new Washington State program record in the event. Barbora Mileisyte (49.75), Issabelle Parrish (49.60), Emily Lundgren (49.31), and Darcy Revitt (47.06) teamed up to get the job done.

The diving event of the day was platform, which San Diego State’s Isabella Gomez won with a score of 306.30.
