ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that its PreCheck program will remain operational for now, despite earlier indications of a suspension due to the Department of Homeland Security’s funding lapse.
A TSA spokesperson said, “The agency will evaluate on a case by case basis and adjust operations accordingly” as staffing constraints arise.
The TSA did not provide information regarding the status of the Global Entry program. The Washington Post first reported that both programs were set to be suspended starting at 6 a.m. Sunday.
