ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Watch for some slick spots on untreated surfaces this morning as we had some freezing drizzle late yesterday and overnight as surface temperatures dipped below 32 degrees. Snow showers across the region today as a blizzard develops along the east coast… That storm will help to shovel in moisture supplying the snow showers, but no significant accumulations for WNY. Some areas near Seneca and Wayne County may see temperatures get warm enough to turn some of that snow into mix or rain. Overall the greatest snowfall will be in the hilltops of the Finger Lakes, where 3-5″ is possible today. 1-2″ for the Rochester region.
Lake snow influence takes back over tomorrow through Tuesday morning. This will give some additional accumulation, and while snow may be falling during the Monday morning and evening commute, right now road impacts look to be minor… But be careful driving anyways!
Lake snow tapers off through Tuesday, and on Wednesday a clipper system gives us more snow… The winter weather doesn’t end there as Thursday sees another chance for snow/mix/rain from north to south respectively. We will continue to monitor the development of that storm, so stay tuned.
