Aliso Niguel overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to beat Newport Harbor 68-60 Wednesday in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs at Newport Harbor High.
The Wolverines outscored Newport Harbor (16-13) by 16 points in the second half and went on a big run in the third quarter to take the lead.
Aliso Niguel (21-8) has won 10 consecutive games and was the Sea View League champion. Newport Harbor was the sixth place team in the highly competitive Sunset League.
Jayden Mysin led Aliso Niguel with 19 points. Jay Keys scored 11 points for the Wolverines and freshman Miles Iribarne added 11.
Aliso Niguel will host Glendora in the second round on Friday. Glendora defeated Portola 70-68 on Wednesday.

Cypress 61, San Gabriel Academy 58: Emmanuel Igbekoyi had 17 points for Cypress in a road win over San Gabriel Academy.
Ryan Gov had 15 points for Cypress and Ethan Mai added 10. Gov left the game with six minutes remaining in the third quarter and didn’t return until midway through the fourth.
Cypress will host Rancho Christian in the second round Friday.
JSerra 72, Pasadena 66 (OT): JSerra outlasted Pasadena in an overtime win at home.
Jaiden Bailes led JSerra with 21 points and had three steals on defense. Ruan Doane scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter. Godschoice Eboigbodin had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Earl Bryson scored 13 points and dished out five assists.
JSerra (20-12) will play Loyola on the road in the second round Friday.
Orange Lutheran 79, Arcadia 74: Josh King had 22 points for Orange Lutheran in a road win over Arcadia.
Noah Zeola had 19 points and Ethan McCoy added 13 for Orange Lutheran (19-9). Kameron Young added 11 points with five rebounds and two steals.
Orange Lutheran will host Rolling Hills Prep on Friday.
Crean Lutheran 87, Santa Barbara 61: Chadrack Mpoyi had 30 points for Crean Lutheran in a home win over Santa Barbara.
Jacob Majok had 18 points for Crean Lutheran (22-7). Nick Giarrusso and Caden Jones each added 12 points.
Crean Lutheran, the No. 1 seed in Division 1, will play Santiago of Corona on the road Friday in the second round.
Fairmont Prep 52, Crossroads 43: Fairmont Prep beat Crossroads on the road in a first-round matchup.
Langston Ford led Fairmont Prep (18-11) with 18 points and David Abisogun added 10.
Fairmont Prep will host Brentwood in the second round Friday.
Inglewood 102, Tesoro 71: Tesoro allowed a season-high 102 points in its first round loss to Inglewood on the road.
Owen Hatch led Tesoro (24-5) with 19 points and added five assists. Carson Hatch scored 18 points and Max Draper had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
St. Bernard 63, La Habra 51: A rough second quarter sank La Habra in a first round loss to St. Bernard.
La Habra (21-8) was outscored 27-12 in the second quarter. Acen Jimenez led the Highlanders with 24 points and Josh Desatoff added 12. Jimenez made five of 12 3-point attempts.
In Division 2:
Mater Dei 83, Providence 63: Richie Ramirez scored 30 points for Mater Dei in a blowout win over Providence of Burbank.
Luke Barnett scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Mater Dei (18-14). Zain Majeed and Malloy Smith each added 12 points for the Monarchs.
Mater Dei will host Westlake on Friday in the second round.
Canyon 63, Silverado 55: Dean Dohrmann and Rami Awad each scored 21 points for Canyon in a home win.
Tolu Akomolafe added nine points for Canyon (17-12). Canyon will host North Torrance in the second round Friday.
Servite 70, Maranatha 66 (OT): Servite beat Maranatha in overtime to get its first playoff win since 2021.
Saiger Smith led Servite (19-11) with 18 points. Jack Kennedy and Tariq Johnson each had 11 points. Jack Schutt had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while adding five assists.
Servite will play Roosevelt of Eastvale on the road Friday in the second round.
Hesperia 52, San Clemente 41: San Clemente had its season come to an end Wednesday in a road loss to Hesperia.
The Tritons beat Tesoro last week to earn a share of its third consecutive South Coast League championship. Bryan Blake led San Clemente (18-11) with 22 points.
In Division 3:
Woodbridge 65, La Canada 60 (2OT): Jaiden Sabino had 30 points for Woodbridge in a double-overtime win over La Canada at home.
Zaccaria Saleh had 14 points for Woodbridge (20-9), which won the Pacific Coast League championship.
Woodbridge will play Eastside on the road Friday in the second round.
In Division 4:
Trabuco Hills 70, Chino 54: Ryan Hull had 26 points for Trabuco Hills in a home win over Chino.
Shoji Karst had 17 points for Trabuco Hills (17-12) and Carter Peckson added 10. The Mustangs will play Saugus on the road in the second round Friday.
Shalhevet 57, Capistrano Valley Christian 51 (OT): Capistrano Valley Christian lost an overtime thriller to Shalhevet on the road.
Matthew Ahern had 24 points for Capo Valley Christian (13-16). Deuce Moore had 13 points and Benjamin Makelela had 10 rebounds with two blocks.
Colony 58, Beckman 51: Beckman’s season came to an end with a road loss to Colony of Ontario.
Qusai Azem led Beckman (15-14) with 19 points. Josh Charette had 14 points for the Patriots and Bronson Mejia added 11.
In Division 5:
San Juan Hills 84, Apple Valley 67: San Juan Hills cruised to a home win over Apple Valley.
Garrett Brehmer made four-of-five 3-point attempts and led San Juan Hills with 27 points. Rocco Jensen scored 18 points for the Stallions. Kellen Owens and Cash Harris each added 11 points.
San Juan Hills (15-13) will play Irvine on the road in the second round Friday.
Irvine 84, Calvary Baptist 68: Irvine beat Calvary Baptist on the road in a first round matchup Wednesday.
Jalen Yim paced Irvine (18-11) with 17 points. Evan Terakawa had 15 points for the Vaqueros and Holden Stearns added 13 points.
