UCLA came in second with 43 votes. Spots 3-6 were claimed by Texas (27 votes), Arkansas (24), Mississippi State (16) and Tennessee (10). Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Vanderbilt also received votes.

LSU was recently picked by the SEC coaches to finish first in the conference. Though LSU won it all in last year’s College World Series, the Tigers were not SEC champions last season. Texas, in its first SEC season, claimed the regular-season title. Vanderbilt won the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.
