In honor of Record Store Day, which takes place on April 18, the iconic 1980s rock band announced on Wednesday that they are releasing special editions of their 2001 albums, Greatest Hits, and its acoustic companion, Acoustic Hits. Funds will be going to War Child UK, an organization that provides support such as food, clean water, hygiene kits, clothing and blankets to children and their families when war breaks out in third-world countries.
The special edition vinyls were announced months after The Cure revealed they were performing multiple music festivals across Europe this summer, including Primavera Sound, Firenze Rocks, North Festival, Electric Castle, Festival De Nimes, Way Out Festival and more.

In addition, the band also has seven live albums, three remix albums, seven compilation records, eight box sets and 12 EPs.

Greatest Hits features various popular songs sung by The Cure, such as "Friday I'm In Love," remixes of "Lullaby," "Just Like Heaven" and "Lovesong," "In Between Days" and "Why Can't I Be You?." Two new tracks — "Cut Here" and "Just Say Yes" — were also included. All of the songs were newly remastered by Tim Young.
