A busy stretch of Algonquin Road in suburban Rolling Meadows was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a “serious” accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, with closures expected to last for hours as police work to investigate.
According to a 10:30 a.m. post from the city, the Rolling Meadows Police and Fire were assisting with the accident, at Algonquin Road and Meadowbrook Industrial Court. Eastbound lanes of Algonquin Road between Barker Lane and New Wilke Road would be closed “until further notice,” police said.
“Please avoid this area and take alternate routes,” police added.
