Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday, the league announced.
Brooks is coming off a big week where he averaged 28.8 points on 53.5% shooting and 54.5% from deep. He added 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and one steal per game as Phoenix went 3-1 despite being down star guard Devin Booker.

Brooks’ shining moment of the week came in last Thursday’s dismantling of the Detroit Pistons.
In a little over 32 minutes, Brooks dropped 40 points on 13-of-22 shooting and 4-of-7 from long range. He chipped in eight rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in the 114-96 win over the Pistons.
Fittingly, Brooks’ outburst came on “Dillon the Villain” t-shirt night.

“Every night I can go get 30 or 40 if I want to,” Brooks told reporters postgame.
In his first season with Phoenix (44 starts), Brooks is averaging 21.1 points on 44.6% shooting and 36% from deep. He’s added 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
He became the fifth Suns player in franchise history with at least 800 points and 40 steals through his first 40 games with the team.
“Dillon Brooks deserves a lot of credit to what’s happening in Phoenix,” Charles Barkley said last week on SiriusXM when discussing his reasoning behind adding Brooks to his NBA All-Star Game reserves list.
Brooks was not among the reserves announced Sunday by the NBA. Booker, however, made the cut.
The Suns are back in action Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The game tips off at 9 p.m. and can be heard on the Arizona Sports app, 98.7 and ArizonaSports.com.
