Gatiss spoke with us while he was at the Radio Times Covers Party 2026, and when asked whether Bookish was a series that could run and run with multiple future seasons, he said: "I bloody well hope so!"
Indeed it is. This is the first we've heard of season 3 being in the works, and while the show hasn't yet been officially renewed by U&Alibi, it does seem hopeful that we could hear positive news sooner rather than later.
View Green Video on the source websiteWhile fans will no doubt be thrilled to hear that Gatiss is already thinking about the long-term future of the series, in the meantime we still have season 2 to get excited about.
Teasing those upcoming storylines, Gatiss told us: "The first story is set in the world of spiritualism. The second story is about a murder in a tailor shop, and the third story is set in Germany where Book and Jack go to find out what happened to Jack's father, Felix."
Bookish airs on U&Alibi. The series is available to stream on demand on Sky, Virgin, BT and TalkTalk.
