MANCHESTER, N.Y. — Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say a home in Manchester was destroyed by a fire Monday afternoon.

Deputies, along with three fire departments and an ambulance, responded to State Route 21 in Manchester for a reported structure fire. Deputies say it is believed the fire started near a wood stove.

None of the people inside the home were hurt. However, deputies say a family cat was trapped inside the house and died in the fire.

The fire is still being investigated.
