Day 6 of the Chicago Bears offseason. The Chicago sports media landscape lost a legend on Friday with the passing of Terry Boers. A former Chicago Sun-Times columnist, Boers might be best known for being one of the most influential people in the history of this city’s sports radio scene. His shows with Dan Bernstein (and earlier, Dan McNeil) were game-changers. Those shows launched the careers of producers, radio hosts, execs, and other folks in this industry. They also opened a path for sports writers to expand their reach with new career paths.
But perhaps the most important thing Boers helped do was keep the minds of listeners (like myself) sharp and thinking critically, while having a laugh or two along the way. The obits and memorial pieces at the Tribune, Sun-Times, and 670 The Score are worth reading today.
The minds of Bears fans just don’t stop. You’ve been doing a great job with the questions in response to this post:HELLO, BEARS FANS! Who knows how the cookie crumbles. However, I’ll do my best to get to all of them as soon as possible. If all else fails, it can carry over onto the next episode. I am envisioning an offseason in which there is a full segment dedicated to your questions. So, please, keep ’em coming!PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THE BN BEARS PODCAST: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
An explanation as to why Bears receiver DJ Moore hasn’t talked to the media since Chicago’s elimination from the postseason:.@olin_kreutz explains the reason DJ Moore didn't speak to the media in the aftermath of the Bears' season-ending loss is because, "He can't come out and say, 'I was hurt but I was playing.'""That puts the team in a bad spot, so he's still being a team player," Kreutz says. pic.twitter.com/AaWQHRogPi
— 670 The Score (@thescorechicago) January 23, 2026 As much as I am looking forward to Maxx Crosby trade rumors because they have the potential to be weird, fun, and involve the Bears, I am at the same level of not looking forward to DJ Moore trade rumors. I hate that the last play we saw Moore this season was one where he looked to have not finished his route or run it to its fullest capacity. That can’t be the lasting memory of Moore’s time in Chicago. Nope. Absolutely can’t be. Moore made too many big plays down the stretch of this season for that to be the thing we remember him for. The Sun-Times has some early grades for the 2025 Bears as everyone reflects on the season that was for Chicago’s football team. This is a fun thread:? — No Context Chicago Bears ? (@BearsNoContext) January 24, 2026 The Atlanta Falcons announced that they have completed interviews with the following general manager candidates: Joe Douglas, Mike Bradway, Josh Williams, and Ian Cunningham. I expect a decision from the Falcons to come down soon-ish now that they have reached the finalist round of the interview process. The Athletic’s Jesse Newell takes a deep dive into the 2025 Chiefs offense with an exploration of what went wrong, what went write, and a comparison to the 2024 team. Former Bears RBs coach Eric Bieniemy has his work cut out for him in his return to Kansas City. An old friend finds a new coaching home: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports (via Twitter/X) that the Miami Dolphins are hiring Chris Tabor to be their special teams coordinator. Tabor, who was most recently with the Buffalo Bills, coached Bears special teams from 2018-21. (Photo via Getty Images) Even though Mike McDaniel has a job locked down as the Chargers offensive coordinator, he is still open to head coach openings. However, McDaniel clearly has a particular gig in mind. McDaniel has officially pulled his name from consideration for the Buffalo Bills job. Earlier this month, he removed himself as a candidate for Cleveland Browns gig. I’m just glad he isn’t going to be calling plays for the Detroit Lions. Phew. I love fun media stories, like this one where Jay Glazer recalls a time when he and Adam Schefter went head-to-head for the same job.MORE BEARS FROM BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad-Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
