Aims Community College has secured a five-year partnership with Alquist 3D, establishing the concrete printing company as the first industry tenant at the Aims Workforce Innovation Center.
College officials announced the agreement Friday during the college’s Aims Day celebration at the Welcome Center, 4901 W. 20th St., marking the college’s 59th year delivering higher education in Greeley.
The Aims Workforce Innovation Center, or AWIC, is set to open in late fall of this year, with a goal of supporting regional economic development and hands-on education. Alquist will occupy one of the three available innovation spaces within the AWIC.
Alquist, which worked with Aims to develop a curriculum and launched a non-credit online certificate course in summer 2024, plans to train and hire Aims students as well as collaborate with other startups at the AWIC.
The AWIC will also feature offices, a dedicated conference room, access to a larger shared conference room and supporting storage areas.
“We are proud to be the first tenant in the AWIC building,” Zachary Mannheimer Alquist 3D founder and chairman said in a news release. “We know that this is not just for us to do our work, but to create a collaborative space to bring in many other entrepreneurial innovation companies.”

Elijah Martinez, a welding instructor, invited people to try a virtual reality welding machine, which allows those who may not know anything about the craft to give it a go without the necessary safety equipment. Martinez sets the device up at various career fairs and other marketing events in hopes of getting students and others interested in the welding field.
“You can kind of try this without any commitment … and decide if you want to follow through with that and actually get some sparks in your sleeve,” Martinez said.
