ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra launched a dance festival this weekend, featuring choreographers from Garth Fagan Dance and the Rochester City Ballet.
The festival kicked off Friday, and the music director said the groups love to work with local talents, which inspired the idea for a two-week festival.
“When a city is blessed with … we have to show that … in Rochester,” the music director said.
The festival runs at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. There will be two performances this weekend, one on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
The final shows will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 and Sunday, Feb. 1. The shows will feature new choreography, live music, and performances.
