“This meet is always so important,” said head coach Kyle Clements. “It’s been since Nov. 22 since we last raced, and we are at that point of the season that the racing details really matter. We have a couple more meets to help get us there, but this meet is really the starting point of the Championship Season.”

Maddi Hayashi and Brielle Laube both completed the 100 Butterfly under the one-minute mark to start the day, with Hayashi finishing first (57.73) and Laube ending as runner-up (59.25).

The 100 Backstroke event was highlighted by a season-best from Elli Moss who completed the event in 57.15, nabbing first. Mara Freeman was closely behind in second with her 57.24 effort.

For the Panther men, Gunnar Seversen put on another incredible performance. In the 400 IM, the sophomore finished under the four-minute mark with a time of 3:59.62. Seversen did not stop there, winning the 1650 Freestyle with a season-best and Klotsche Natatorium-best effort of 15:47.37, giving him his third win of the meet.

The Saturday morning session featured personal bests from Alvin Valkki and Jean Ducastel. Valkki took fourth in the 100 Butterfly with his time of 50.87, while Ducastel touched the wall first in the 200 Freestyle (1:42.08). Ducastel kept the momentum going during the evening session, finishing at the top of the podium in the 100 Backstroke (50.13) and 200 Backstroke (1:50.44).

Caleb Carlisle rounded out the final session of the MKE Time Trials with a Klotsche Natatorium record outing in the 200 Butterfly, finishing in a swift 1:47.50. Carlisle also broke the Klotsche Natatorium record in the 100 Butterfly Friday.

“The big positive that we took away is that our training base, that we established first semester, is there. The goal moving forward is how we sharpen the race details. This weekend gave us valuable insight on the next steps and what we need to focus on moving forward,” added Clements.
