Confirming the extent of the storyline and that Cain will have prostate cancer, producer Laura Shaw told press including RadioTimes.com: "The Dingle family are set to face huge repercussions [in the aftermath of CorrieDale] and Cain is at the centre of a major prostate cancer storyline spanning across 2026.
Fans will also recall Moira (Natalie J Robb) suffered with her own terrible diagnosis in 2025.
Elsewhere in Emmerdale this year, fans can expect some fallout from the unexpected return of Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) back from the dead.
