Sport by : (Arizona sports) -

Suns guard Grayson Allen is on track to make his awaited return from a right knee injury, as he was listed as questionable on the NBA’s Thursday injury report ahead of Friday’s game in Phoenix against the Sacramento Kings.

Allen has logged seven straight absences due to the ailment, which was listed as injury management.

The 6-foot-3 Duke product, who is in his third season with the Suns, has averaged 16.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 18 games played.

Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro said Tuesday on Burns & Gambo that Allen could return in a “matter of days,” with the upcoming three-game stretch as a possible return timetable. Phoenix finishes out the mini segment with the Oklahoma City Thunder (29-5) at home on Sunday and at the Houston Rockets (21-10) on Monday.

Kings injury report vs. Suns

Sacramento (8-25) is playing the first of back-to-back games versus the Boston Celtics on Thursday night and is without center Domantas Sabonis (left knee partial tear) and Zach LaVine (left ankle sprain).

LaVine was ruled out of Thursday, for his eighth consecutive missed game, and is not expected to suit up on Friday after an ankle injury on Dec. 14 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The guard has averaged 20.2 points, three rebounds and 2.3 assists in his 23 games.

Two-way players Dylan Cardwell and Daeqwon Plowden were out against Boston on G League assignment.
