“Hearties are far more than a fan-base — they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley,” remarked Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media. “It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for 12 seasons and beyond."
Here's what we know about Season 14 of When Calls the Heart.
Yes. Hallmark confirmed that season 14 is happening.
Has filming begun on season 14 of When Calls the Heart?
Also, with three of the main cast expecting newborns in the new year, producers are likely to give the actors and their family some well deserved leave before they have to return to the grueling production schedule. Production will also have to accommodate for their lead actress to pull double duty as the star of the show and being a first-time mom!
If Nathan does finally propose to Elizabeth this season, will we spend most of Season 14 planning the wedding? Will we see a wedding by the end of Season 14 or will they drag it out for another season or two? Will Lucas and Edie start a formal courtship in Season 14? We'll have to wait and see.
Who is in the Season 14 of When Calls the Heart?

Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton)
Krakow, who married her longtime love, Ben Rosenbaum, this summer, recently announced she is pregnant with their first child. While a Season 14 is a go, we don't believe they'll need to write her pregnancy into the new season. Krakow will likely have given birth before production starts on the new season.

Last year, McGarry married Kayla Wallace IRL. Wallace played Fiona on the show.
Fun Fact: It's a Baby Boom! Not only is Krakow pregnant with her first child, the McGarrys are expecting as well! Congrats to the happy couple!

Chris McNally (Lucas Bouchard)
Fun fact:McNally found his own Hallmark romance IRL with actress Julie Gonzalo. The two most recently starred together in 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost.
Fun fact #2: McNally recently announced he and Gonzalo were also expecting. This will be Baby #2 for the couple.

Mei rode into town looking to escape a man who wished to possess her like a prized piece of jewelry. There was clearly a mutual attraction between her and Nathan in Season 9, but that seemed to fizzle out by the beginning of Season 10. She was then paired off with Mike Hickam (Ben Rosenbaum) but also possibly in a love triangle with Harry (Brendan McRae). By Season 11, it looked like Hickam was the only game in town (we're not sure what happened to Harry), so the courtship continued between the two, and they were married by the season's end.

Cummins has been part of the cast of When Calls the Heart since Season 1. He was also a series regular on Riverdale. He has also appeared on Garage Sale Mysteries, Eureka, and UnREAL.

Edie Martell was introduced in Season 12 as a foil for Gov. Bouchard (McNally), but also as a possible love interest. Working for the opposition, but realizing quickly their sinister agendas, Edie covertly helps Lucas with his causes. Hopefully, we'll see more of her in the new season as their relationship evolves.

The Canfields came into town looking for a fresh start and bought an old property of Henry’s (Cummins) to lay down their roots. Their daughter, Angela, is a piano prodigy and also blind. She headed off to college at the end of Season 12, so we probably won't see much of her in Season 14. Joseph, the Canfield patriarch, was originally looking to buy the gas station in town, but he’s also a handyman and preacher. His wife, Minnie, works at the cafe.

Johannah Newmarch (Molly Sullivan)
Molly is one of the town’s widows whose husband died in the mine collapse in Season 1. She’s best friends with Florence (Loretta Walsh) and a bit of a gossip hound. Molly's daughter, Rosaleen (Mamie Laverock), returned to visit in Season 11, having spent several years away as a nanny. Molly seems to have a blossoming romance with Jed (Daniel Arnold), a Hope Valley local.

Jed Campbell (Daniel Arnold)
Jed Campbell looks to be Molly's next love as his character has appeared more prominently in Season 12. Many viewers thought the character was new to the show, but it turns out Arnold has been playing Jed since Season 3! Arnold's other credits include Zoo, iZombie, and Hell on Wheels.
Hyland GoodrichCourtesy of Hallmark
Hyland Goodrich (Jack Thornton Jr.)
Goodrich took over in Season 9 as Little Jack from Lincoln and Gunnar Taylor, the twins who were originally cast to play Baby Jack. The twins spent three seasons playing Elizabeth and Jack’s son. This is Hyland's first role.
Fun fact: Insulin was invented by a Canadian surgeon, Dr. Frederick Banting, and medical student Charles Best. The two sold the patent for insulin to the University of Toronto for $1 so everyone could have access to it.
Jacob Shoemay. Credit: ©2025 Hallmark Media/Photographer: Ricardo HubbsJacob Shoemay (Oliver Garrett)
Oliver is a Mountie cadet sent to Hope Valley to train under Nathan. While he had a difficult upbringing — his father died, his mother is in prison, and his foster family used him as labor for their farm — Oliver is determined to overcome these shortcomings to become a Mountie. Shoemay currently has a recurring role in Fox's Murder in a Small Town.

Billy Christos Jr., Ava Cooper, Elias Leacock, Jaeda Lily Miller - The Kids of Hope Valley (Toby, Cooper, Opal, Allie)
A few of the older kids graduated last season and have gone off to college so we won't see them as regular cast this season though they may pop up for an episode or two. We may see a couple of the Benson Hills kids in various storylines throughout Season 13, but the kids of Hope Valley will dominate any children-based storylines in the show.
What happened to Fiona on When Calls on the Heart?
Kayla WallaceCourtesy of Hallmark
She returns briefly in Season 12, but only to sell the barbershop. Fiona had decided to accept the proposal of a man who was always asking for her hand. While she did not feel romantic love for him, she knew it would be a good match, and it would allow her to pursue her charities and causes that she held so dear.
As for the real reason behind her departure, Wallace was cast in Landman, one of Taylor Sheridan's shows he produced for Paramount+. Landman stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Andy Garcia. Wallace plays Rebecca Savage, a very capable and intimidating attorney sent to Texas to clean up a legal mess. The show recently aired its second season.
No word yet on who will guest star in Season 14 of When Calls the Heart. We would love to see more of Brooke Shields, who played Charlotte Thornton, Elizabeth's mother-in-law and Little Jack's grandmother, as well as Melissa Gilbert, who played Georgie McGill, a fellow forensic investigator and former colleague of Bill Avery.
When will Season 14 of When Calls the Heart premiere?
No word yet when Season 14 of When Calls the Heart will premiere, but if they have followed past seasons, it'll likely premiere in the early months of 2027, as Season 13 premieres Jan. 4, 2026.
How many episodes are there of When Calls the Heart?
For the 13 seasons, there are 143 episodes of When Calls the Heart, which includes five extended-length Christmas specials. Season 14 will likely have 12 episodes.
Where is When Calls the Heart filmed?
When Calls the Heart is filmed just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The town of Hope Valley is located on the Jamestown Movie Set (built on the family-owned MacInnes Farm), where most of the show is filmed.

The remainder of Season 2 of When Hope Calls premiered on Sunday, Apr. 6, 2025 and a third season was picked up by the network. Season 2 is available to stream on Great American Pure Flix.
Season 2 of When Hope Calls pays homage to the previous cast, including Lillian (Kohan) and Mountie Gabriel (Ryan-James Hatanaka), who appeared in the first few episodes before passing the torch to the primarily new cast members, including Cindy Busby and Christopher Russell.
