Whether you’re in the mood to celebrate the past 12 months or just plain forget them, Greeley and surrounding communities have a variety of ways to ring in the New Year next week.
From all-night parties to live music and even daytime events for the kids, there’s something for revelers of all sorts.
Do it up right
Downtown Greeley Block Party
If you’re looking for the classic, out-of-a-movie New Year’s Eve experience, look no further than the 800 block of 9th Street downtown.
The drinks will be flowing as four downtown bars — The Box, Daisy Dukes, The Jager and Gentry’s — are offering free drinks from 9-11 p.m. And similar to a standard Wednesday when UNC students and other Greeley 20-somethings converge downtown for Bear Crawl, this event will surely attract a younger crowd.
The Box will have a live DJ, Daisy Duke’s will have line dancing, Ben Pu will perform at Gentry’s and The Jager will have all-night karaoke. All four bars will celebrate the new year with a balloon drop and champagne toast.
The event will kick off at 9 p.m. and will end with last call at 2 a.m. Pre-sale tickets cost $26.50 and are available at TicketLeap. Prices will increase at the door.
New Year’s Eve at The Sand Bar Windsor
If you’re looking for something served out of a champagne glass instead of a red solo cup, The Sand Bar, 1600 Pelican Lakes Point, in Windsor has just the event.
It will feature an hors d’oeuvre buffet, party favors, a photo booth, karaoke from 8 p.m. to midnight and a champagne toast when the ball drops.
The Lodge, also at 1600 Pelican Lakes Point, will host a pre-party beginning at 4 p.m.
New Year’s Eve at the Sand Bar will run from 7 p.m. to midnight. Entry is $10, but no registration is required.
Music
The Moxi Disco New Year’s Eve With Val Chillmer

“Ring in the New Year at the Moxi with a night of groove, glitter and pure musical energy,” an event description reads.
If Val Chillmer is a little too chill, not a worry. Downstairs at Stella’s Pinball, Arcade & Lounge, Austin and Andy are promising the “heaviest tunes in town” with their Super Metal New Year’s Eve Party. Stella’s will also be offering a $1 kill the keg special.
Both Val Chillmer and Austin and Andy’s Super Metal New Year’s Eve Party”kick off at 7 p.m. Tickets to Val Chillmer begin at $22.50 and are available at MoxiTheater.com. Pre-sale tickets are not available for the Stella’s event.
