Criss, born George Peter John Criscuola on Dec. 20, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., is best known for his tenure in KISS with his iconic “Catman” makeup. He played drums for KISS from the band’s formation in 1973 through 1980 and returned for their reunion tours from 1996 through 2004. He notably sang and co-wrote the band’s biggest hit, the ballad “Beth,” which reached No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1976.
Frehley died on Oct. 16, after suffering a fall that led to a brain bleed. He was 74.
Criss’ last solo effort, One for All, was released in 2007.
