Aside from the digital release, Criss’ new album is also available on black, silver, and white vinyl as well as on CD.

Fans responded to the news of the album’s success in the comments with words of support.

“50 years ago, it was YOU who made me pick up a pair of drumsticks and choose the life path I'm on to this day. We still love you, Peter--as if you needed more proof, this is it. Happy birthday, Catman!???,” one wrote.

“Great record Peter!!!! Best of luck and have a very happy birthday “Catman,” added another.

Some of Criss’ fellow musician friends also weighed in, including bassist Billy Sheehan, known for his work with Steve Vai, David Lee Roth and Mr. Big. “Awesome!!! Such an honor to be on this record!!✌️??,” he wrote.

Sheehan is just one of the notable musicians to play on Criss’ new album. Others include Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 and former Late Show with David Letterman band leader Paul Schaffer.

Criss, born George Peter John Criscuola on Dec. 20, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., is best known for his tenure in KISS with his iconic “Catman” makeup. He played drums for KISS from the band’s formation in 1973 through 1980 and returned for their reunion tours from 1996 through 2004. He notably sang and co-wrote the band’s biggest hit, the ballad “Beth,” which reached No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1976.

While he was a member of KISS, Criss also released a self-titled album in 1978, simultaneously with solo efforts by his three fellow bandmates at the time—singer-guitarists Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley and bassist-vocalist Gene Simmons.

Frehley died on Oct. 16, after suffering a fall that led to a brain bleed. He was 74.

Criss’ last solo effort, One for All, was released in 2007.
