Nick Saban apparently has an appreciation for, let’s say, a specific type of football player.
Saban and the College GameDay crew were on hand at Texas A&M ahead of the Aggies’ first-round College Football Playoff matchup against Miami. The conversation turned to both teams’ offensive lines, with the Hurricanes’ front five warming up behind the GameDay set location on the Kyle Field playing surface and the Aggies’ OLs on the other side of the field.
That’s when Saban delivered a line that got his fellow GameDay deskmates laughing.
“The offensive line that we got warming up right behind us, they got some big old wide asses like I like,” he said. “And that offensive line at the other end, they got some big old wide asses, I like.”

— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) December 20, 2025Alabama teams under Nick Saban were known for a lot of things during his tenure on the Crimson Tide sideline. The OL, though, often goes unappreciated, and to Saban’s credit, he had some great offensive lines throughout his coaching career.
As for the comment itself? Add it to the list of notable and sometimes hilarious (and sometimes NSFW) things Saban has said since taking his place on the College GameDay set.
