If you’re looking to kill time before the Bears-Packers game kicks off at 3:25 p.m. CT, this exclusive interview featuring quarterback Caleb Williams and NFL Network host Kyle Brandt is a good way to pass the time.
Chicago’s QB1 touches on a variety of topics in this 15-minute yap session. Among my favorite quotes:
Caleb Williams self-assessment: “Statistically, obviously, can be a lot better. But I think I’m playing well in specific moments. And then there’s times I feel that I’m not playing as well. Our time is coming. A lot of comes from, you know, being on the same page, hitting at the right time, us kind of getting into that flow state together. When that happens here soon, it’s going to be a storm. On the Packers rivalry: “You want these games to be what they should be. And it should be emotion, it should be fiery, it should be a high-powered game. I’ve been a part of some cool ones throughout my career so far. Whether it’s the NFL or in college, and that’s the feeling. It gets you up in the morning. You’re super excited about it. There’s always something a little bit more to this game. You want to come out victorious and have that little extra juice. That’s why I do it. It’s who we are, it’s who we’re going to be, and we’ll keep growing and keep getting after it.” On that viral Ben Johnson quote from earlier this week: “As media does, they’ll blow it up and they’ll have whatever they have to say about it. But that’s everyday with him and I. We’re a no bullshit kind of group between him and I and the rest of the guys. We’re not winning necessarily because we’re dropping back and throwing the ball 50 times. We’re hitting the key plays at the right time, but we can definitely be more efficient. And that’s something we talk about and something we’re very truthful about.” Sep 21, 2025; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson talks with quarterback Caleb Williams (18) against the Dallas Cowboys during the second half at Soldier Field. Mandatory Credit: David Banks-Imagn ImagesCaleb Williams has thrown for 2,722 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. He is on pace to set a new single-season club record in passing yards and could become the franchise’s first 4,000-yard passer with a hot run down the stretch. But more important than that is that Williams has already led the Bears to a winning record, the team’s first since the 2018 season. He could also get the team to double-digit wins (as early as Sunday’s game in Green Bay). As of now, Caleb and his teammates control their own destiny and could play their way into being the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Who saw any of this coming?
I have enjoyed the Caleb Williams experience to this point. And I hope this is just the beginning of something wonderful in Chicago.
