ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two brothers, who own and run Vivus Fitness on Culver Road in Rochester, have been arrested after prosecutors say they were found with various drugs with intent to sell.
Prosecutors say State Police started investigating Andy Rucci, 41, for “narcotics trafficking activities,” in January.
Through investigations, prosecutors say Andy Rucci worked with his brother, 38-year-old Joel Rucci, to sell large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl.
On Nov. 21, State Police did a traffic stop on Joel’s car on I-490 in Pittsford. Prosecutors say troopers recovered “six kilogram-sized,” bricks of cocaine from the car.
A search warrant was also executed at a home on Mathews Street tied to the brothers, in which investigators say they recovered various drugs and over $25,000 in cash.
The brothers were arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, five kilograms or more of cocaine.
According to prosecutors, Andy was previously convicted in Federal Court in 2007 on drug and gun charges, and Joel was previously convicted on a drug charge in New York State Court.
