Justin Guarini, best known for his stint on American Idol, announced the best news.
The Broadway actor and singer will publish a memoir and self-help guide titled Center Stage Confidence: How to Own Your Story and Command Any Room, where he shares how he turns pressure into presence through self-help exercises.
“The idea for this book didn’t just come from my successes,” Guarini wrote in a statement. “It came from my failures — the moments when I doubted myself, when I let fear hold me back, or when I felt like I wasn’t enough.”
Published by Entrepreneur Press and distributed by Simon & Schuster, Center Stage Confidence draws on Guarini’s experiences in music, television, Broadway and the entertainment business and will feature conversations with celebrated performers and entrepreneurs, including Michael Bublé, Jordan Fisher, Amber Ruffin, Kim Walsh Phillips and Russell Brunson.

Guarini first gained national attention when he was a runner-up for the first season of American Idol in 2002. Born in Georgia and raised in Pennsylvania, he started singing in various church and school choirs. Guarini studied at the University of the Arts and the School for Film and Television before competing in American Idol, where he became the runner-up to winner Kelly Clarkson. Soon after, Guarini signed with American Idol’s 19 Management and secured a record deal with RCA. He released two studio albums in the early 2000s, but was eventually dropped by 19 Management.
Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Guarini found himself successful in theater and Broadway, where he has been a part of the cast for various productions including Rent, Chicago, Wicked, In Transit, Once Upon a One More Time and more.
Now, Guarini runs Profit Under Pressure, which provides one-on-one and group programs that help high-achieving entrepreneurs build confidence and master their storytelling skills. He also co-founded the Elite Speakers Network with Kim Walsh Phillips, where they help business owners and high achievers improve public speaking, storytelling and on-camera presence.

“It’s about showing up fully — for yourself, your loved ones, and the moments that matter,” Guarini said. “It’s about owning your story, even the uncomfortable parts, and using it to inspire others to own theirs.”
