A husband and wife died after they were shot in a home’s garage on Sunday, Nov. 30, in Simi Valley.
Officers responded just after noon to the 500 block of Hawks Bill Place, after a neighbor called 911 and reported seeing a male suspect pointing a handgun at an open garage and then heard several shots fired, according to Sgt. Rick Morton with the Simi Valley Police Department.
The married couple, who were in their 60s, were taken to a hospital with several gunshot wounds and later died.
A suspect vehicle that left the home matched the description of one found around 80 miles away near Ruben S. Ayala Park at Edison and Central avenues in Chino, where authorities on Sunday afternoon found a vehicle burned and a person inside with a gunshot wound. Investigators believe the victim died by suicide, Morton said.
Detectives went to Chino to look into the potential lead, Morton said.
No further information was immediately available. The investigation was ongoing.
