A 27-year-old woman died earlier this month, five days after she was hit at by a 19-year-old drunken driver going more than 130 mph at 10th Street and 23rd Avenue in Greeley.
Around 5:45 a.m. Nov. 9, Greeley police responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash at 23rd Avenue and 10th Street, finding that a Mustang driven by Eduardo Parra-Corral had crashed into a Subaru at the intersection.
The driver of the Subaru was taken to NCMC in critical condition, the release states. She died on Nov. 14 from injuries sustained in the crash, according to a Greeley Police Department news release. The Weld County Coroner did not immediately respond to an email requesting the victim’s identity.
Parra-Corral admitted to drinking prior to the crash and did not have a valid driver’s license, officers said. They also found an open case of beer as well as hard liquor in his vehicle following the crash, according to an affidavit for his arrest.
Parra-Corral suffered minor injuries. He now faces charges of vehicular homicide, driving without a license and possession of alcohol by a minor, according to Colorado court records. The Weld County District Attorney’s Office has until Tuesday afternoon to officially file the updated charges.
