If you’re thinking about decorating for the holidays anytime soon, comfortable temperatures are heading our way, so this weekend might be your best bet.
The first part of the weekend will bring high temperatures around 50 degrees and rather pleasant conditions under mostly sunny skies.
A weak disturbance to the north might slide a few clouds in this afternoon, though they’ll drift through rather quickly and some sunshine will emerge, NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Pete Sack said. It will be slightly breezy at that time; winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour.
If you’re thinking about heading into the city this evening, you’ll likely encounter beautiful conditions. Temperatures are poised to drop down into the mid 40s, skies will be clear and breezes will be rather light, Sack said.
As the overnight hours approach, mainly clear skies will arrive and low temperatures will drop into the mid-to-upper 30s in Chicago. Chiller conditions are likely further from the lake, Sack said. In the Fox River Valley, readings could drop to around the freezing mark.
Sunday, meantime, will be a delightful day overall, with plenty of sunshine coming our way.
Temperatures will warm up a couple of degrees, raising the high temperature to around 53 degrees, Sack said. Both the evening and daytime hours will be quiet, but our next storm system will begin sliding in not far after.
Clouds will increase after the morning commute ends on Monday, and as we get into the afternoon timeframe, rain will begin to develop, Sack said. High temperatures will rise slightly to around 54 degrees.
After that, get ready for another round of rain.
Showers will be likely, especially in the morning on Tuesday, meteorologists stated. Tuesday will bring high readings around 50 degrees, and that’ll mark an end to rather comfortable temperatures.
A cold front will move through on Wednesday, causing temperatures to plummet to near the 40-degree mark. If you’ll be traveling ahead of Thanksgiving, snow will likely emerge on the other side of Lake Michigan, Sack said. So, take note if you’ll be heading into Michigan.
When the holiday rolls around, we’ll see even chillier weather; the high temperature will likely be around 34 degrees on Thursday, followed by a high of 33 degrees on Black Friday.
As of this point, next weekend calls for a rain and snow mix late on Saturday, with a high temperature around 36 degrees. Temperatures will warm up slightly to around 41 degrees.
