The Harvard women defeated Brown 172-71 to open their seasons on Friday evening. Leading the way for Harvard was Anya Mostek who swam to four wins on the day, two individual and two relays.

Mostek swam to a win in the 50 free with a 23.14 and a 2:01.13 in the 200 back. She swam both events this past season at the Ivy League Championships posting personal best times in both with a 22.45 50 free for 3rd and a 1:53.94 200 back for 2nd.

In addition to her individual wins, Mostek led off the team’s 200 medley relay that also consisted of Aliana Marakovic, Kiley Wilhelm, and Sydney Lu as they touched first in a 1:41.80. Wilhelm, Mostek, and Lu also swam on the winning 400 free relay alongside Alexandra Bastone who won in a 3:21.98. Mostek had the fastest split with a 50.14 on the 2nd leg.

Wilhelm swam to two individual wins of her own, first touching in a 2:00.58 in the 200 IM. She also swam a 1:59.50 in the 200 fly for the win, a time notably faster than she swam at the 2025 Ivy League Championships as she swam a 2:00.58 for 14th back in February.

Bastone showed her freestyle versatility, winning the 1000 free in a 10:09.54. Bastone won Ivy League titles in the 200 free (1:46.33), 500 free (4:38.75), and 1650 free (15:59.70) this past season and went on to swim at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

Leading the way for Brown was Crystal Yuen who swam to a first place finish in the 200 free with a 1:48.21. The sophomore was only just over a second off her lifetime best 1:46.92 that she swam for 5th at the 2025 Ivy League Championships. Yuen also swam to a 4:55.55 in the 500 free for 2nd, touching behind Harvard’s Carolina Daher who earned the win in a 4:54.53.
