ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Another cool day with a slight chance for A.M. lake effect rain showers near the lakeshore before high pressure wins out and keeps us dry for the afternoon and evening, with highs only in the upper 40s. Tonight we’ll get back down to near freezing levels, so there is a freeze warning in effect through 9am tomorrow.
Sunnier, drier weather for Monday through Wednesday with more frosty mornings and highs again only near 50 degrees; our normal high this time of year is in the upper 50s. Eventually a low pressure system will move up the Ohio River Valley midweek, giving us rain by Thursday night.
That system will be over WNY on Halloween, meaning showers are in the forecast for trick or treating. It will also be cool, with temperatures in the mid 40s Halloween evening. However, it is important to remember there is still time for the forecast to change, as the amount and timing of the rain depends on the exact motion of the low pressure system, which is not set in stone yet. But as of right now, plan for rain showers and cool temperatures.
