Thoughts on the Chicago Bulls’ New NBA Cup Court Design? ...Middle East

Chicago Bulls fans can expect something entirely new for NBA Cup games this season.

When the league announced that each team would receive a special court design for its annual in-season Tournament, the reviews were rather mixed for the Bulls’ edition. The franchise featured a rather bold red color during the 2023-24 campaign before opting for a slightly darker shade for last year’s tournament. This year, however, the organization has gone in a completely new direction.

The Bulls’ NBA Cup court will have a gray base with the words “Chicago” written at center court. Fans will also be able to make out the iconic stars from the city’s flag, which stretch across the full court. The words “See Red” will also appear along the sideline, while the full team name will be featured on each baseline.

While I have respected the bold approach taken over the past few seasons, there is no question that this year’s floor will be easier on the eyes. I’m also a pretty big fan of seeing “Chicago” appear at center court for the first time. As for the stars, it actually has me wondering if a future version of the court should just be the city’s flag. If they didn’t think the bright red was sensory overload, why not go all out with the stripped colors?

Anyway, as silly as I do find the NBA Cup to be, I do like that it gives the league a chance to shake things up a little. It’s always fun to see what court designs they can come up with, even if some miss the mark. You can check out every team’s new floor on NBA dot com or via the video below. For what it’s worth, my favorite is probably the Knicks or Hornets.

When do the Chicago Bulls Compete in the NBA Cup?

Teams around the league are only about a week away from starting NBA Cup play. The Chicago Bulls will host their first of four group stage games on Halloween against the New York Knicks. Their second NBA Cup home game will be held on Nov. 21 against the Miami Heat.
