Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training’s (FAST) Morgan Gibson has verbally committed to the University of West Florida for the Fall of 2026.
I am so humbled and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of West Florida. Gibson wrapped up her 2025 long course season at the USA Swimming Futures Championships in her hometown of Ocala, Fla., where she notched a pair of lifetime bests, clocking 35.04 in the 50 breaststroke to place 45th overall, and 4:33.29 in the 400 freestyle to take 37th. Additionally, Gibson swam to an 18th-place finish in the 100 breast (1:15.70) and finished 45th in the 200 breast (2:46.08).
As a junior at Crystal River High School, Gibson turned in a 7th-place finish in the 500 free (5:15.18) and a 14th-place effort in the 200 IM (2:13.36) at the 2024 Florida Class 2A State Championships this past November.
One of her best short course performances was at the 2025 Florida Senior Championships in March. There, she rewrote her personal record book, setting best times in the 50 free (24.89), 100 free (54.32), 200 free, 500 free (5:02.16), 100 fly (58.59), and 400 IM (4:34.31).

Based on her best times, Gibson would have finished 4th in the 200 breast, 8th in the 400 IM, and 6th in the 500 free.
Gibson projects to be a very impactful addition for West Florida right out of the gate, with almost a full year to still develop.
Gibson is the first publicized recruit for West Florida in the 2026 recruiting class.
