Not only does the NBA officially return on Tuesday night, but there is a whole new way to enjoy the action this season!
Bleacher Nation Fantasy recently rolled out a revamped app, which includes a new pick’em game where users can win real cash prizes. The reception of this updated DFS game by NFL fans has been amazing, but I genuinely think something like this is best played during the NBA season. BNF will have over 500 picks to make every day across the NBA. It can be something as simple as Anthony Edwards’ points total or a deep cut like how many rebounds + assists for the Hornets’ Moussa Diabate. In other words, BNF has picks for the casuals and true sickos like me (I like more for than 9.5 REB + AST for Diabte against the Nets, by the way).
Anyway, the whole point of the game is to pair two or more picks together for a chance to win real money. The more picks you string together, the higher your payout might be. For instance, putting four picks together counts for 10x value!
I’m really looking forward to playing the game all year and sharing some of my favorite picks, so what better time to start than now! Below you’ll find some of my favorite plays for opening night. Remember, this is barely the tip of the iceberg, so download the app and review the full selection of picks for tonight. There are also tons of picks already for the games on Wednesday.
NEW USER PROMO: A 100% deposit match is available up to $500 with the code DUNK. A 1.5x playthrough is required, and bonuses will expire in 13 days. One time use only.
Opening Night NBA Picks on Bleacher Nation Fantasy
Steph Curry LESS than 13.5 Three Pointers Made
Does this sound obvious? Well, it should!
Bleacher Nation Fantasy is constantly running promos, and this is their opening night bonus pick! Throwing this in with any of your other favorite picks for tonight is an excellent way to boost the potential return.
Alperen Sengun MORE than 17.5 Points
I absolutely LOVE Alperen Sengun this year. He is coming off a ridiculous offseason in EuroBasket and looks primed to continue his breakout play. Will Kevin Durant take away some of his usage? Sure, but his presence will also help take some of the attention away from the young big man. At the end of the day, Sengun averaged roughly 20+ following the All-Star break last season and dropped 31 points on OKC in his last meeting with them in 2024-25. Yes, the OKC defense is stout, but Sengun is such an important part of what this team wants to do offensively this season.
Kevin Durant MORE than 1.5 Blocks + Steals
Kevin Durant may not be the defender he used to be, but we all know he has a knack for making big plays. When we factor in that he is returning to OKC for a banner raising AND that this is his first game with a new team, I expect to see a very motivated Durant tonight. Not to mention, Ime Udoka coaches his teams to be aggressive and physical. All Durant needs to do is record a singular block and steal for this to hit, which I love. He averaged over a block per game last year, by the way.
Shai Gilegous-Alexander LESS than 36.5 Points + Rebounds
I know it may feel crazy to go against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but I think going less here is reasonable. First of all, the Rockets held the fourth-best defense in the NBA last season. They have the size and length along the perimeter to throw at SGA. Second of all, the Rockets were the single best rebounding team in the NBA last season and grabbed 48.5 boards a night. There aren’t going to be a lot of extra rebounds to go around.
To be sure, SGA could still light up this Rockets team. I think we all know that. But let’s say he drops somewhere between 30-32 points, will there be a path toward him grabbing 5-7 rebounds against this team? Maybe not.

I feel like it’s flown relatively under the radar that Jalen Williams is sidelined to begin the season. His absence opens up plenty of shot attempts for Chet Holmgren, who many expect to take another step forward this season in general. I’m honestly kind of surprised at how low this number is. I get that this Rockets frontcourt might be a lot stronger than Holmgren, but he has the athleticism and floor-spacing ability to give them some problems. Nevertheless, I just really like the value here with Williams on the sideline. OKC will need him to be more aggressive than normal offensively.
Al Horford MORE Than 0.5 Blocks
Look, I have no idea how many minutes the Golden State Warriors plan to play Al Horford, but I don’t really care. He remains one of the most versatile defenders in the league. If all he needs is one block for a pick to hit, I’m taking that. I also just like this matchup for him! The Lakers are going to attack the rim a lot tonight, creating that many more opportunities for Horford to get his hands on one.
Deandre Ayton LESS than 26.5 PTS + REB + AST
While I think there is a world where Luka Doncic brings out the best in Deandre Ayton, I’m not sure that will happen tonight. This is the big man’s first game with the Lakers and first game since Feb. 10 of last year. Could he end up with a double-double and finish some nice lobs in the PnR? Sure, but I think hitting 26.5 could prove tough against this Warriors defense. Ayton isn’t a particularly physical rebounder, and he certainly isn’t much of a facilitator. Especially when we consider how much the ball will be in Luka Doncic’s hands, I’m just not sure I see Ayton having a big enough impact tonight.
Brandin Podziemski MORE than 12.5 Points
The Golden State Warriors leaned heavily on Brandin Podziemski over the second half of last season. He averaged 17.2 points per game over his last 14 regular-season contests and shot an absurd 49.0 percent from downtown. Of course, it’s unlikely he picks up exactly where he left off, but the run did speak to how he continues to develop in this Warriors system. At the end of the day, Podziemski is unafraid and always willing to take the open shots that come his way. And there could be plenty against a Lakers defense that finished below league average last season.
