The downtown Phoenix arena that is home to the Suns and Mercury has its sixth name, the Mortgage Matchup Center.
The Suns, Mercury and United Wholesale Mortgage — whose president and CEO is Suns owner Mat Ishbia — announced a 10-year, $115 million naming rights deal on Thursday. Mortgage Matchup is UWM’s consumer-facing brand.
“I’m extremely excited about this partnership as it represents two organizations that have natural alignment and a shared commitment to excellence,” Ishbia said in a press release. “The Phoenix Suns and Mercury have a diverse, passionate and engaged fan base in sports that will allow us to make strong connections between mortgage brokers and consumers.”
In addition to Suns and Mercury home games, the building is set to host the 2027 NBA All-Star Game less than a calendar year after it anchors the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four.
Signage for the arena’s former name, Footprint Center, came down over the All-Star break, prompting news the organization was looking for a new naming rights holder.
The building was known as PHX Arena for the short time between rights holders.
