MARRIED At First Sight UK is back – and now former bride Erica Roberts has spilled the beans on the E4 reality series.
Influencer Erica shot to fame on the show in 2023 and was known for bringing the drama.

The Scottish influencer, who was embroiled in several feuds and confrontations during her time on the show, recently revealed whether the marriage is truly legal – and the answer is no.
”I say that all the time – I am crazy. But I am not that crazy,” she told her 148k followers in a video.
”There is no way I am legally marrying a random man that you’re matching me up with on national television.”
Whilst the couples have ”no say” as to where the wedding will take place, the producers allegedly do ask the contestants what flowers and favours they want.
But despite listing her preferences, Erica claimed she ”got absolutely f*****g nothing” of what she had asked for.
”I matched my bridesmaids dresses to the flowers – I had these beautiful burgundy, wine red dresses for my girls […] and they gave me orange and f*****g yellow flowers.”
Spilling the beans, Erica added that they were also given a budget of £1,200 ”which is meant to cover the wedding dress, the shoes, the bridesmaid dresses, the bridesmaid shoes, accessories, veil and whatever else you need for the wedding”.
Slamming the ”stingy” show, which only allowed to her to have 12 guests at her big day, Erica claimed she ended up having to fork out £400 of her own money towards her gown and those of her pals.
According to the influencer, ”the dinner parties last all day”, starting the day as early as 7am with the camera crew already filming you getting ready.
When it comes to the food they were served later in the evening, ”it’s freezing cold cause it’s been sat there for an hour while they take shots of it and stuff”.
Erica, who posts under the username @ericarobertss, added that ”the show is not scripted”.
”Everything you see is because it’s actually happened.
”Yes, things are very, very heavily edited so that things can be mixed up, taken out of context.
”I could’ve done an eyeroll later on in the night – but they’ve put it at the start of the night when someone said something, so it looks like I’m eyerolling to what they said.
”But it actually wasn’t even at that.
”They can manipulate it a lot to make it look as if things aren’t how they seem.”
The Scottish star, who felt as if she was given ”the villain edit”, begged viewers to ”remember these are real people with real feelings, real emotions”.
”This is TV – you don’t need to get so vexed, you don’t need to get so angry.
”You don’t need to go online and be giving, ‘She’s a fat, ugly b***h and I hate her’. We don’t need that.”
CONTROVERSIAL BRIDE
During her time on MAFS two years ago, Erica had several fallouts with the other couples.
She then made a surprise appearance at the 2024 series reunion – where it was revealed she’d enjoyed a secret fling with Kieran Chapman, much to the surprise of his show bride Kristina Goodsell.
Following the awkward scenes, Erica also ended up in an online spat with Sacha Jones.
Erica was accused of also hooking up with Sacha’s show husband Ross McCarthy, with Sacha later insisting her rival was creating drama “for the fame”.
Sacha told The Sun: “Some of Erica’s friends have been commenting on my posts saying, ‘you know the industry’. I’ve blocked them.
“That gave me the impression that she’s been doing what she’s doing to draw attention. This reality TV career is obviously something she really, really, wants.”
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
‘Ain’t no way’
Posted earlier this autumn, the video has already racked up more than a whopping 632k views and a staggering 31k likes.
Over 270 people flooded to comments, with one horrified fan writing: ”The dinner party being all day would have me walking out. Ain’t no way.”
Someone else claimed: ”An ex colleague of mine was on the 2nd season and it actually did used to be legally binding. Before it kinda turned into reality tv.”
”Erica I loved your sass on the show. You took no prisoners,” a fan chimed in.
”It’s all about ratings but it’s fun to watch,” another commented.
