ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TOP 10

1. Mater Dei (23-4): The Monarchs won the Nike Tournament of Champions Platinum Division championship, the prestigious tournament’s top division, in Phoenix. They beat Bishop Gorman in the semifinals and Marymount in the finals, two teams that had defeated Mater Dei earlier this season. Mater Dei’s Layli Ostovar was named tournament MVP.
2. Los Alamitos (24-8): The Griffins swept Newport Harbor on Monday in a Sunset League match, their second league win over the Sailors.
3. Newport Harbor (21-8): The Sailors had swept Marina and Corona del Mar in recent league wins before losing to Los Alamitos on Monday.
4. San Juan Hills (16-5): The South Coast League-leading Stallions have won 10 consecutive matches, including recent sweeps over Trabuco Hills and Beckman.
5. Crean Lutheran (20-2): The Saints lost to Foothill in five sets last week. They still are the fourth-highest team in the Massey ratings that the CIF Southern Section will use to place teams into playoff divisions.
6. Foothill (19-5): The Knights got a huge victory last week, 3-2 over Crean Lutheran in a Freeway League match.
7. Orange Lutheran (24-5): The Lancers have a big stretch of Trinity League matches over the next several days against (in order) JSerra, Santa Margarita and Mater Dei.
8. Santa Margarita (11-6): The Eagles advanced to the championship final of the Gold Division in the Nike Tournament of Champions tournament in Phoenix.
9. San Clemente (17-7): The Tritons are in first place in the Sea View League with a 3-0 league record.
10. JSerra (15-11): The Lions advanced to the Nike Tournament of Champions Platinum Division bracket, the top division in the tournament. They lost to eventual finalist Marymount in the first round of the championship bracket.
