Gene — made up of singer Martin Rossiter, guitarist Steve Mason, bassist Kevin Miles and drummer Matt James — had their first show since 2004 at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Sunday evening and performed a two-hour set for their most loyal fans.
After releasing four studio albums and many singles and EPs, Gene decided to split in 2004 to focus on solo projects. After announcing the split in June 2004, the band had their last live performance on Dec. 16, 2004, at the London Astoria.

"In the blink of an eye, we are back," they wrote as their Instagram caption. "Thank you, Leeds ??."
